ZA Testing

Well after removing ZA Extreme from both my computers, the BSOD have went away. Both computers have been running for 2 days rock solid. ZA seems to have been the issue. I am using the W7 firewall and all is well. I did have a time getting ipv6 going to get my network back up through the Windows Firewall, but I got it. I posted on the ZA Forums of my testing and issue o hopefully help others, and they deleted it! I didn't bash, just posted what I was going through and the results, wow? That helps me to know it is time to move away from ZA, thanks!. Anyway, I guess I will run W7 firewall, and find a nice anti-virus that's not a system hog,, Any recommendations?..AVG?

I will post back after a week, but I believe this is done.

Thanks for all the help, and I hope to never go through this again!!

Thanks

I appreciate all the info, your right, 3 weeks of hell, to find out the software I'm supposed to trust is stabbing me in the back. No more, I'm running Windows 7 firewall, and downloaded/installed AVG Free Anti-virus/spyware, and the system is Rock solid still. A super combination!!!

Thanks,

PS Anyone running Zone Alarm Extreme and Windows 7 64 bit that finds these posts by search, don't fight it, move away from ZA and you will be a lot happier. I only post this, because you won't find info in ZA Forums, they remove any post's of issues blaming their software. I have had ZA for YEARS, it's hard, but just do it.

Cheers!!!

Also remove ZA if you're just running ZA firewall, that's what caused the problems in my case. Windows firewall works just fine ;)

This is funny, kinda.. After going through heck finding the cause of the BSOD, Zone Alarm contacted me to see if I would Beta Test the new Release..9.1.118
Hesitantly I Dl'd and installed.. I've been running it for 5 days now and W7 64 bit, and ZA 9.1.118 seem to be very stable together. ZA must have fixed the BSOD/netio.sys issue. (Makes me wonder why they didn't acknowledge the issue in the 1st place?)

Anyway, after installing ZA Beta the scan caught a trojan script and removed it. Virus or not, ZA caught it where AVG didn't, so as long as it is stable, I will keep ZA on. I do seem to have a few more MW2 disconnect/server issues, but that is acceptable.
