BSOD and other Error On Startup.

Hello,

For a few months now I have been getting a Windows error upon powering on my PC.

90% of the time it wil tell me "Windows failed to start, a recent hardware or software change could be the cause". It asks me to boot normally, safe etc. I have always chosen boot normal. My PC works fine with no hiccups or anything. It is just this error I have been getting on startup.

This problem also comes and goes, sometimes I won't see it for a week and this it will come back. I have also noticed that when this happens I hear some sort of very fast grinding noise coming from my tower, this goes away after about 30 seconds. Below is the dump files.

Hi,

Is this a custom built PC, or one that was pre-installed with Windows?

The installation is non-genuine.
The Key and SLIC table are from an Acer machine - but the motherboard appears to be a retail one (probably ASUS or AsRock?)
The implication is that there is an Activation Exploit present to circumvent activation and validation requirements - and the integrity of the install is therefore questionable.
You will need to reformat and reinstall using genuine media and Key.

Thanks for the reply.

I bought this PC from a friend about a year back and he works at PC repair shop so I'm guessing he might have used a burned copy on Windows 7 because that's what he had told me that he did for someone else before, I'm not sure though. I just tried to contact him and haven't gotten an answer yet.

So I just ordered Windows 7 from Newegg, maybe that's why I have been getting these errors because the Windows he had on this PC before was already messed up.
