recently I didnt use my lappie for a few months, started using it again yesterday and it keeps crashing, I did a memory diagnostic, but dont know where the info is saved. I tryed sfc /scannow and it fails at around 60% during verification, i have run spybot, windows defender, melwarebytes and registry mechanic, registry mechanic found and fixed issues but it still crashes.
last night I used the windows repair option and it ran no problem but didnt solve the issue. I also updated windows.

on a completely unrelated note that may or may not be part of the problem, my windows explorer when uploading/saving as ect is not displaying correctly.(see image)

Well you can stop at the sfc is failing.
Honestly, your quickest fix is likely a repair install, since the system is bootable it will be the least involved method.
You will require a windows 7 disc to do this.

If sfc is failing you have data failing the hash check, which means window's system files are corrupt or somehow vary from how they are supposed to be.

A future note, registry cleaners ...and anyone that has time helping on this site will tell you this, cause far more problems than they solve with windows 7.

It resets windows back to it's default install state. Things like saved window sizes, custom themes, desktop background, will all revert to default.
Your applications should still work, (it's not always 100% perfect but I've never had a serious issue arise from it) and your personal data will not be overwritten or deleted.
