Solved BSOD at Random Times

Hello All.

I have been reading the forums for about 2 weeks now, trying to research my BSOD error. The error can occur at random times. Sometimes while playing WOW, sometimes while just browsing, and sometimes when the system is just sitting idle.

This system is less than a month old and was built by me. The system specs are in my User CP. All parts were bought new, the only thing that is about 5 months old is the video card.

This is Windows 7 Ultimate x64 - Retail Version and was the first install.

Please find that attached file as requested. Below is a description of the BSOD.

Hi BigJer welcome to SF

All your minidumps points to faulty hardware,your cpu.

So please,first if you overclocking anything stop and set it back to factory settings.

Download and install speccy,take a snip\screenshot from the summary and post it here.
Speccy - Standard

Then read very carefully the tutorial and run

Finish with the above steps and post back with any results.

Stress Test Ran for Nine Hours Straight with no problem on the system. Not sure if I am supposed to extract data from Prime95 and post it. Trying to see if there is a place to gather log data if there was any other than what is in each window for each core.

No... I had just got done running some other stuff. So it was pretty warm.

Here is a new screen shot. Still a Bit warm.... Which is interesting, because in the process of troubleshooting I moved it to PICe slot one which is close to the CPU and CPUFAN/Heatsink. I think I will move it back.

Though for now temperature is still high.

If you are advanced with custom pc building clean everything inside the case using air spray or blower.

Sorry Panais, was unable to do much more yesterday. Sunday's are "Wife Time"

I did capture another summary even after moving the video card. Idle temp was about 50C and after I turned the monitors on idle temp, with the exception of this browser screen is up to about 72C. This picture shows in between. Fan RPM is about 1590.

I am about to run the GPU Test you recommend and will post those results. Computer has not locked up since just before I started this thread. Interesting.

I typically shut the computer down once a week and blow out the entire case with canned air, clean all of the fan filters, PS filter etc, Graphics card and CPU Fan. The case has 2 230mm exhaust fans and 1 140mm exhaust fan and 1 140mm intake fan.

Will post results of GPU test shortly. - Just a note..... when I was researching information on this card, the High Threshold Alarm area was 105C. Typically when I run WOW on Ultra settings, GPU Temp is around 89 - 92C. The tool is stating anything above 80C should be cause to stop the test. That is kind of low.

Here are the results from OCCT. I ran the test for an hour. (Adjusted the temperature from 85C to 95C) Fan worked like it should on the card and kept the temp reasonable.

Good test results! Temp is little worm. I dont know though the "perfect" idle temperature for the specific gpu.

Give it time,(1-2 days)work,play as usual and post back with news,good news i hope

Update. I changed my video driver out to from the standard Nvidia driver off their site to a newer one that Forceware had. I have not had any lock ups since. I am thinking that has solved my issue. I have been hesitant to post as I did not want to jinx anything!
