Hi All,

I'm new here so bare with me but I seem to be having some problems with windows 7.

I was using XP until I got hold of a copy of 7. Everything installed fine but I am having a few issue:

When just browsing, desktop tasks etc, thing tend to randomly lock up and say not responding, once this happens, the computer becomes unusable. The solution is to reboot but the pc can then lock up again the next time and I have to keep rebooting. This lockup seems to be totally random, the computer sometimes works fine for hours or other times can lock up 3 times in a row just trying to load startup programs.

The other issue I am having is BSOD also at totally random times.

I have run memory diagnostic and it passed 100% with no problems. I have also checked the disk health on all HDDs with everything fine.

Attached are the memory dumps. If there is anything else you need to know, just ask!

Many thanks!

p.s. I just used Blue Screen Viewer and it seems two files that are generally highlighed in red in the dump files:

halmacpi.dlll
ntkrnlpa.exe

Maybe this has something to do with it? :D

The Windows Debugging Tools aren't able to access symbols for your operating system files from the Microsoft Symbol Server - so that makes debugging them difficult if not impossible.

Please do the following:
- activate/register/validate the Windows installation ( Genuine Microsoft Software )
- run sfc.exe /scannow to replace any problem files
- If that doesn't fix it, then wipe and reinstall Windows
- don't use "leaked"/torrent builds
