Hello,

I hope someone will be able to help me. I have been racking my brain trying to figure this out for over a month. My desktop will randomly bluescreen/reboot. Sometimes I get an error code, sometimes it will just reset with no error. The error I just got was a stop 0x1e.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have reinstalled the OS twice. So far I replaced:
Graphics card, power supply, and ram.

The current specs are:
Intel Core 2 quad 2.66 Ghz
8 GB DDR2 ram
ATI Raedon HD 4850
Gigabyte EP43-UD3L Motherboard with latest BIOS (F9)

I have tested the ram using memtest and the hard drive using check disk and seatools. When I was able to get the system to boot I ran prime 95 for 12 hours with no crash. It doesn't seem to matter how long I have the system on or what I am doing. Currently I can't get it to boot at all, it will just continuously power cycle.

If you have any ideas, I would love to hear them!

Thanks!

I was about to say, it will be a bit hard to do that :p

When I say power cycle I mean it will turn on, all the lights come on and the fans spin up. It will run through the BIOS and post. Then I will get the windows logo and it will shut off (go to black) and then power back on. I tried running it in safe mode, but the same thing happens. As soon as it starts loading files for windows it will cut out and start over again.

I even tried booting from a linux CD and as soon as it started loading, it resets on me. I tried resetting the BIOS settings to optimized defaults and to fail-safe defaults, same result.

Thanks for your help with this. I am really stumped here.

It sounds like hardware to me. As a first test, go into your BIOS and let it sit in the BIOS for as long as you can (an hour or two would be great). See if it has any problems just sitting in the BIOS for an extended period of time.

Okay, so it has been a few days and I think I got it fixed. I took the entire system apart, cleaned every component, and checked the CPU pins on the motherboard. It has been good for the last 5 days or so. I think one of the pins was bent and that was causing the problem.

Thanks for the help!
