I've had an issue with my computer BSOD'ing in me while i'm surfing the internet. When I'm downloading or streaming music, my computer will lock up and not respond. It will then show the bluescreen.

It will also only crash on me while using Firefox. I have no idea what is up with this problem. another thing, it will crash when I'm on an unsecured network. If I'm on a secured network, it will not BS on me.

I've tried going to my computer manufacture's website and there's no update for my Atheros wifi wireless card. This is very frustrating.

I have attached a ZIP file of the minidump file on this thread.

Hi,

That networking driver is up to date. The problem here is Norton.

Remove Norton
Download the Norton Removal Tool (NRT); save to desktop. Boot into SAFEMODE - NO Networking. Tap F8 key during boot-up. Then go to desktop, RIGHT-click on the NRT icon and select Run as Administrator.

When complete - re-boot.

NRT - ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

Install MS Security Essentials --> http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Then reset the Windows Firewall to its default settings -
START -> type cmd.exe -> right-click -> run as administrator -> type netsh advfirewall reset press enter

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Reventon

I've tried that and it still has not worked. I just got another bluescreen here a few minutes ago. Could I try and re-image the laptop, basically restore it to factory settings?

Also, for some reason, I can only connect to secured networks. If I try to go onto an unsecured, it will kick me off and there's no internet access. I did uninstall Norton and installed Microsoft Security Essentials. I'll post the minidump files again.

Problem solved

I was sick and tired of recieving blue screens. I finally gave in and restored my computer to it's factory settings. I don't need anymore assistance.

Thanks for all your help!
