I have been getting a BSOD error saying that atikdmag.sys had some error. This usually occurs while browsing files using explorer.

Things i have tried:
tried general system clean up, (spy/bloat/mal)ware (spybot S&D) and Antivirus (avast) sweeps
Uninstalled ati drivers, no error received while they were uninstalled.
installed JUST the latest video driver as was recommended in this thread, error came back.

computer was up and running fine for 3+ months before the BSOD started happening. It happens randomly while im browsing files, but there is at least one folder i can go to that always re-creates the issue to test... it usually happens when there are video files in the folder (i suspect it may be a thumbnail generation issue?).

required BSOD zip attached, thanks in advance for any help.

Are able to access Windows? Well I think once you restart after BSOD you should be able to access Windows. This problem is happening for you because of the IEEE 1394 devices are connected.
So I've found a hot fix from Microsoft, this hot fix will resolve the problem.

Stop error code 0x0000003B (SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION) on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 when you use some IEEE 1394 devices

Tried this, told me that this update is not applicable to my computer. Also IEEE 1394 is firewire, and i don't even own a firewire device.

The BSOD is still happening at the same times as it was, it just isn't saying the word "atikmdag.sys" anymore.
