I just resently modified some advanced boot opition from msconfig and after words ran into a BSOD. Am posting my dmp files and specs and opitions of recovery I've tried to do.

MSConfig I modified.
-Usages of CPU under advanced boot option
From 1 to 2 *I'm pretty sure this is the reason why my laptop isn't booting, I wasn't aware that 2 Processor were different than a Duo Core Processor....I know I know noob move. But hey, you gotta learn some where.
-Usage of RAM * I believe
I checked off maxium memory.
-Boot delay *I believe its called
From 30 second to 5

Unsuccessful Opitions I've taken.

*Automatic Start up Fix
*All version of Safe mode
*System Restore
*Ran Last known Good Configuration
*Restore default Bios
*Running my upgrade Windows 7 CD
-upgrade windows CD/DVD aren't bootable, well I guess they are but I wsn't able to install from boot because I neeed to be in windows to run the install.

As of now I've removed my HD and connected it to a USB DriveDock to try to rewrite and back up some data off my HD.

Some other detailed specs about my laptop is am running a windows7 home premium x64 off an upgrade cd from windows vista x64. Its a 2.26 CPU duo Core 4GB of DDR2 and a 500gb HD.

*My current actions to deal with my BSOD is am using a usb drivedock and trying to rewrite the windows 7 install directory and hope it would solve my problem. But of course am open to other ideas u guys may have.

Thanks for reading...Jae

Hmm...it's pointing to your USB drivers.

Try updating your chipset and USB drivers in Device Manager. Also try uninstalling your USB drivers and rebooting, if the problem persists.

Thanks for the reply Johnathan, my question is I can't even access windows. The BSOD prevents me to enter windows. How can I go about uninstalling my USB drivers on my laptop drive via USB HD Drivedock?

This crash was caused by your usbhub.sys. what device are you using on external usb posts?

Yoiu need to reinstall any external USB drivers that came with the devices.

If it/is internal you may need to run
system file check
to do that type cmd>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow ( note the space between the sfc and "/")

Let us know the results of the SFC as you may need to run it again.

Let us know

Ken

Just wondered how many unpowered devices there were on the USB hub itself.

I've tried this method with no success. Also am unable to use any form of safe mode.

*So you guys think it has nothing to do with my system config file? But rather my usbhub.sys file?

Download Ubuntu and burn the ISO to a CD. Boot from it, and select Try Ubuntu without any change to your computer.

Then go to Places>Computer and find your hard drive. Then navigate to Windows\System32\Drivers and delete usbhub.sys.

Then reboot into Windows, and let it install the driver again.

Alright I'll give this a shot. Thanks again for the replies Johanthan. On a quick note, does it matter which version I download? In references 32bit or a 64bit? Since my windows7 is a 64 bit.

Please continue uploading your dmps as they come. Just remember to delete them afterwords, so that we don't run the same ones over and over again.

**Update**

I finally solved my issue with my BSOD. I ran safe mode 5-10 tries with commands. With no luck because some of the drivers wouldn't load since I deleted my USBHUB.sys but after numerous attempts it finally loaded so I ran my MSCONIFG and changed all configuration but to default and it came up with some errors. It took about 2-3 restarts for windows 7 to attempt to reinstall my usbhub.sys but eventually it did.

*Bottom line*
1. I wasn't sure why my .dmp files were pointing towards my usbhub.sys when I had a big conclusion it had something to do with my msconfig files since I modified it.
2. Other then that my main concern were how to restore an old msconfig file without being able to boot into windows and without a full OEM windows 7 cd.

My BSOD has be recovered please lock this thread and thanks for the replies.
