This is my first post. I am really hoping someone is able to assist me with an issue I am having.

So basically, I was playing Diablo 3, and out of nowhere I received a BSOD (nvlddmkm.sys). This is the first time since release that I have received this error (or even a BSOD for that matter). After a restart, i tried to update the driver with no luck. A couple starts later and I am not even able to start up in safe mode due to BSODing.

Ive been wanted to reformat my HD for a while now, so I figured now would be a good time with this issue and perhaps it would sort its self out. Well I was wrong. Even after a complete reformat, the issue is still happening (it could not even finish installation without BSODing) and since installation is incomplete, safe mode is not an option.

I was looking around and saw that the nvlddmkm.sys BSOD was common to Windows 7 and Vista, so I decided to install XP to test it. THat was also a bust, so I reformatted and installed 7 once again. Still same issues, cannot even get to the log in screen now.

Graphics are clearly off. Blue vertical stripes on the loading screen and blue "dots" on parts of the screen.

I hope someone is able to provide some kind of insight on what you suggest I do. As of right now, this computer is essentially a brick and hope to be able to use it again soon.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Figuring BSOD are a process of elimination, in my opinion. Start with your graphics card and go from there. If you have on board graphics remove the graphics card and enable it. If you don`t then get another video card.
