Windows 7 Starter 32-bit

OEM - netbook.

Netbook about 1-2 years old but I have a bad memory.
Never re-installed.

Made a thread about this in Hardware and devices, I also thought it might be my USB mouse causing problems because recently I have been getting the USB device is malfunctioned and well all the reboots seem to happen just minutes after my USB mouse is connected.

Filled in System Specs and have got the system report health and dump files.

Hope I did it right.

Awesome Laptop.
You have an issue with MSE. I suspect it is caused by an incomplete Windows update.

First thing to try:
Please go to your Maintenance Center and check the Windows Update status. Make sure you are up to date, do them one by one manually if needed.
For help or reset see: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91738-windows-update-reset.html

Second (if the above did not immediately solve..)
Re-install MSE. and, not sure if you are, but do not use other, possibly conflicting AV/Guard tooling.

The way you describe the problem, it sounds like you do not get dumps. Just in case that is because of incomplete settings, please check:
To ensure minidumps are enabled:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/174459-dump-files-configure-windows-create-bsod.html

Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header
Select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

Next, tryout, as a test, to have a screen in the taskmanager, showing mem usage on, when you plug in the USB. Does it spike and does paging seem to be able to handle it? Or is the spike the moment it reboots/blacks out?

You have a 1Gb netbook which could have some trouble especially if you use a lot of the Apple stuff on at the same time... Shouldn't crash of-course.. just trying to find a logical reason.

I have reinstalled MSE. Latest updates installed.

I have no other anti viruses as I know it can cause conflict and problems.

I also unchecked automatic reboot and made sure the minidumps were on.

It did say systemroot MEMORY.dmp

Is that what it's meant to say? Or does it vary?

There doesn't seem to be any spike when I plug it in. So should I just plug it in and use it until it crashes?

Also will I have to run the program to create the output folder everytime after it crashes or will it automatically create that folder now?

Best is to just wait for a crash. And hope it was the MSE part...

That the Mouse is unrecognised by Windows and will not work.

So you think that if you do nothing to reconnect the usb mouse, it wouldn't crah anyway? Only that mouse triggered the cash? If so, please try two things. First: go to elevated command prompt and try sfc /scannow

If that comes back with no changes, i.e. Everything was ok... Go to Safe mode, delete your usb mouse in Devices, reboot in Safe mode and try the mouse again.

sfc/scannow fixed an error.. cbs.log or something like that.

Still not recognises mouse... so later I will check safe mode.

Yesterday.. I had no problems..

Today there was another reboot

But even though I have not checked automatic reboot, there was just a reboot, no blue screen.

I'm not sure what it is. I did install updates when I shut down for the night yesterday. So I haven't really used it until late afternoon so maybe the updates made it wrong again.

No.. I mean external power (in the UK 110v?) and a ups is an interruptible power supply...

Well here it is anyway..

Also is there any other browser I can use other than IE9, I hate it, I really want to be able to open the last windows/tabs that I had open in my last browser session, like chrome does. ..

Chrome is the one I want. But I uninstalled it to help.. as I had originally put this thread in hardware and devices.

Firefox.. I really don't know if it's good enough/fast enough.

I'll run the program and upload as soon as.

Here.. I couldn't really remember how to do system health report so I left it out

Regretfully, there is no dump at all in this. But... there is news. A part of MSE security system is not working. Actually, something in your system is blocking it.
What other AV and anti malware stuff are you running?

Or, better... De-install MSE. Reboot check and test shortly (off internet/lan)
If ok, install MSE anew with latest version.

If you did have a second AV/anti-malware (though I don't see one) , turn it off for now.

I haven't run into any reboots just now..

I don't have a second malware and anti thing

I have just uninstalled dvdvideosoft stuff as I don't use it.

Could Bonjour be the problem as it's always worried me as I know it can cause problems.. but I still think I need it as I have ipods and use iTunes.
