Hi,
Unfortunately the installation is non-genuine.
The Key used to activate Windows is that of a OEM SLP (System locked Pre-installation) computer - and the motherboard is a retail one with a 2008 BIOS pre-dating Windows 7.

The best course of action is to:
  • Purchase a legitimate Windows 7 licence.
  • Format the HDD.
  • Reinstall Windows and activate.

Hi thanks for letting me know. What has that got to do with keyboard not working though? Is it related, as i have been using this system and win7 for several years relatively trouble free.

My priority is getting the keyboard working so the computer is usable first then worry about genuine key. I have hundreds of gigs of data i need to move then do i?

i have already allocated a new 50gb partition on c drive in case i need/can do a fresh install JUST for a new win7 o/s. and have all my user data etc and backups on other drives.

Currently my c drive is a 1tb with about 310gb free plus 2 x 50gb empty partitions.all up i have this

Hard Drives
932GB Disk drive (SATA)
466GB Disk drive (SATA)
149GB Disk drive (SATA)

Your quite correct, It doesn't have anything to do with the keyboard not working,
but unfortunately no help can be offered with a counterfeit installation, it is the site rules.
