Positive. I clicked the dropdown menu, and it said IDE, AHCI, and RAID. I made sure it was set to AHCI and then clicked Save & Exit.

Check the SATA and power connection cables. Make it sure that they are properly connected.

Get rid of intel rapid storage. First uninstall it from Control Panel > Programs and Features. Then Uninstall the driver from device manager.

  1. Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
  2. It will open the "computer management" window.
  3. Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices up.
  4. Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
  5. Select one Intel device item under it, right click, uninstall.
  6. Continue the process for all Intel items under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
  7. Now restart the computer. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate native system driver.

Okay, I did everything except for check the cables now.

I got asked to restart twice after the initial restart from uninstalling the SATA driver and the rapid storage stuff.

I'm now stuck at the "Starting Windows" graphic with the waving flag. It's moving, so it hasn't completely locked up. :/

All seems nice.

If there is any more crashes lately, we have to think differently. So let us know how it is running. Post further crashes following the BSOD posting instructions.

Same stop 0xF4.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Do some Disc checks for the HDD. Seatool for dos: SeaTools | Seagate download

  • Burn it in a blank cd. boot from the CD, click on "Accept", wait for it to finish detecting the drives, then in the upper left corner select "Basic Tests", then select "Long Test" and let it run.
  • You can use Win32 DiscImager to create a bootable USB and run Seatools for DOS. Follow this post to know how to make a bootable Seatools USB.
If still failed, I will decide what koolkat77 decided.

While attempting those changes it BSOD'd twice more and then I started getting "failure to start Windows" errors. I had to cold boot twice before it worked.

EDIT: Successfully changed the start up programs and restarted, gonna download the SeaTools now.

Hykon, There is nothing we did in installing the Nvidia drivers that should cause you issues. Whe didn't install the Nvidia update which just notifies you of driver updates (and does not work anyway), we did not install the HDMI driver which is not needed and is used by no one I know. There have also brrm reports that the Nvidia HDMI driver can cause conflicts with Realtek. We did not install the 3D driver which is normally only used by people who are running multiple monitors. End result, we didn't uninstall anything you use, but we did install the display driver and the Phys X driver which you do need.

If you don't mind, go into bios an look under the Hardware monitor and give me the voltages for the +12V, +5V, and +3.3V.
