Whenever I try to play Smite by HiRez Studios, I sometimes get a bluescreen error. It says the cause of the problem is my NVIDIA Geforce driver called "nvkflt". I have attached the .zip file. I don't know how I can fix this problem. Thanks in advance for any help/advice you may have for me.

It may not be the driver issue only, but as you are having this thought, let us try to have a closer look.

Uninstall your installed display driver using DDU.

Then download the driver 347.09 WHQL ....
[nvidia].[/nvidia]
Follow http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/327414-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems.html to install the driver.

Let us know for any further BSOD. More troubleshooting may be needed depending to the situation.

Hello, I've been having the same problem.

May I ask the TS how old his computer is? Mine is from dell (who also make alienware...) and is 2years old... this started happening to me around 1 year after my warranty went away.

I've completely reinstalled my Windows, reinstalled all drivers, etc...

But I'm still having an occasional bluescreen (with the exact same error log).
The times I don't get bluescreens, I can only play at 20fps (where I got 60-100 before). And even minecraft only runs at... 1 fps (maximum 10 if I tweak some stuff) which is really weird.

All this makes me think it's somehow hardware related as I know my drivers are up to date.

I don't know if any of this information helped, but thanks in advance.
(also, sorry for posting this in someone else's topic)

BSODs all took the same blue; but there is no more similarities. So no stereotype solution is feasible.

What I mean is that the .dmp file is exactly the same (to the letter!)

And the problems he describes is the same, the bluescreen also mostly occurs when trying to play the same game as him, so I wouldn't know what the problem is.

My nvidia card is an Nvidia Geforce GT 540M

As I already mentioned, I've already completely reinstalled my computer, with no succes

I'm not sure if the .zip says it, but I believe the BSOD error code was something like "0x00000116" if that helps at all. I am downloading and installing the driver now but I already have 347.09 installed. I'm going to reinstall it with the instructions you provided to see if that will fix anything.

Okay now the NVIDIA installer says that the driver is not compatible to my version of windows.

Edit: Maybe it's because I downloaded the wrong bit-size driver... Whoops. :o

The driver has now been successfully reinstalled. I will try playing Smite for a while. If any problems occur, I will return to this thread.

Edit: Just played a whole game with no problems! A simple, clean re-install really helps. :) <3

That means some unwanted staff of the nvidia driver package is either not uninstalled or got reinstalled.

Another BSOD. Could it be the actual video card that's the problem?

I wonder why you are getting the nvidia bloatware installed.

Uninstall your installed display driver using DDU.

Then download the driver 347.09 WHQL again ....
Install the latest WHQL only.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus and the touchpad driver SynTPEnh.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Hope this time you will not get any other nvidia crap installed. As far as they are there, no valid decision can be made.

nvkflt is not any must. It is not present in my system. And I am using the same driver. As long as it is present there in the system, will not be able to attain at a valid decision.
