Hello First post here so please correct me if i am doing something wrong. I've had my laptop for about a year now. Its an HP dv7 with windows 64bit. I had no issues with it but when i came home i installed a new N router and suddenly my wireless was very slow. I decided it was just my laptop since ever other computer in the house was much faster. About a week ago i got my first blue screen error 9f. Yesterday i had the same thing. I came home bother times to find my laptop sitting in the blue screen with the same error and windows blaming the same file. I have attached the files like the sticky said. Any help is greatly appreciated.

While awaiting the detailed analysis of your BSOD experts (I'm not one of them.), would you please use the following to fully fluff out your System Specs? Thanks in advance.

Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
(left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

Provide full windows version info, for example:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

If the BSOD lads don't find an explanation, then I'll chirp back in, but I find best to wait for the experts.

I've been looking around and could my video card possibly be having some issues? It seems whenever i load things with lots of graphics or video is when i get that sound slow down

All crashes are network related. Re-install your network adapter drivers, wireless network adapter drivers, and Norton security software.

The drivers can be found in Device Manager under Network adapters. To fully re-install a driver, use the following steps.
  1. First, download the latest driver. Then do the next steps.
  2. Click Start Menu
  3. Right Click My Computer/Computer
  4. Click Manage
  5. Click Device Manager from the list on the left
  6. Find the device you are trying to uninstall by expanding the appropriate set of devices
  7. Right click the device
  8. Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
  9. Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
  10. Restart your computer only if Windows asks you to.
  11. Install the latest driver for the device.

Alternatively:
  1. Login as an adminstrative user.
  2. First, download the latest driver. Then do the next steps.
  3. Click Start Menu
  4. Click Control Panel
  5. Click Hardware and Sound
  6. Click Device Manager (the last link under Devices and Printers)
  7. Find the device you are trying to uninstall by expanding the appropriate set of devices
  8. Right click the device
  9. Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
  10. Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
  11. Restart your computer only if Windows asks you to.
  12. Install the latest driver for the device.

When you re-install Norton, make sure to remove it properly with the Norton Removal Tool, download a fresh copy of its installer, and install the software.
