BSOD copying bulk files from ext. HDD

Hi all,

I have a 1TB external HDD attached to my laptop.
Whenever I attempt to copy multiple files to another HDD I am confronted with a BSOD.

Can anyone read the dumpfile and see what my issue is, please?

Not absolutely definitive, but it does blame the FNet Turbo HDD USB driver, which is very old (2008). Either this is a driver that came with the HDD, or it's a driver that came with your motherboard.

I checked your BIOS Vendor, and I take it Compal is Compaq for your area? If this is an OEM computer (most likely), you will want to go to their website and update all your drivers there, starting with your motherboard, chipset, and/or cpu drivers.

Compal is actually a different company that produces laptops to be re-branded by vendors, not affiliated with Compaq.
The Lacie drive in question did come with a "boost utility"... do you think that that might be the problem?

Yes, these utilities are very gimmicky and often unstable. You'll want to remove it. If that doesn't work, you may need to turn on Driver Verifier. For tests not to run, they are Force Pending I/O Requests, IRP Logging, and Low Resource Sim. Everything else should be on. Restart PC cleanly after DV is setup to save changes. Post any new crashdumps that may occur after you turn on DV (you may need to access Safe Mode to turn off DV).
