BSOD Crash Not Sowing Up In Reliability Monitor

I recently had a BSOD, but it does not appear in my Reliability Monitor OR in my Minidump files. It was within that last couple of days.

Where can I find out more about this BSOD? Do all BSOD encounters log information someplace, or are some crashes too intense to even log crash reports?

I have attached my SF Diagnostic Tool results, but I'm really not sure what good it will do because it is not showing the crash I am talking about. The crash I experienced was within the last few days (although I have regular BSOD experiences that I'm trying to resolve as it is).

And the minidump is dated 070712-12838-01.dmp..... and it looks like a process called TESV.exe that caused the crash .... and i think its got to do with Skyrim software.. try updating it ....

This is just one of the latest.... there are others as well... but you need to be specific to which date your are looking for as the date mentioned on the name of the dmp file is different from the day it had BSOD.....

Just for your information.... most of your drivers outdated and have updates.... try updating the motherboard driver and also your BIOS from Gigabyte... also your graphics drivers..

Thanks, good idea. I'll do some updating later today.

How come I only have 2 minidump files but have BSOD as recent as today (the time stamp is probably wrong on that, it must mean yesterday; I haven't had any crashes today)? Also, is the "reliability history" monitor considered to be a crappy tool? It doesn't always show my BSOD crashes.

For reference, some of the BSOD that DO get logged in the reliability monitor are caused by "Video Hardware Errors", which is definitely concerning.

Also, what does it look like caused the crash from "today" do you think?

a process called TESV.exe that caused the crash .... and i think its got to do with Skyrim software

if you do see video hardware error then it would as well your graphic card..... try reseating the cards... probably cleaning the fans.... and then the obvious ..... update drivers....

Since the Level: Information is what it shows for these bluescreens.... it wont show in Reliability Monitor as an error... If you need to check the BSOD ... your first stop is always the eventviewer !!!

Secondly try checking your setting under Control Panel> System > Advanced System Settings > Startup and Recovery > Settings > Uncheck automatic restart and make sure "Write an event to the system Log" is checked

Well I wasn't playing Skyrim today or yesterday (and I'm the only one that uses the computer), so I was confused by this. I believe that skyrim could have caused the dump for 7/7, but it doesn't make sense for today's BSOD.

Thanks for the tips though. Hopefully between a slew of driver updates and possibly reseating the card my comp can get healthy again

One more question. Do I have rev 1.0 or 2.0 version of my motherboard? Sorry, it's probably right in front of my face, but I don't see it and gigabyte has different drivers for each I guess.

Edit: I lied, two more questions! Any tips for flashing the BIOS? Is @BIOS a decent tool?

Well the only difference between these two is the Lan Chipset....but both of them uses the same drivers for alll

I cant make the difference offhand...

But if you look into the bios updates of both..... It looks like you have Version 2...... reason being you current bios version is FE dated 12/23/2010.... Version 1 Bios update dont have it in their releases...... Version 2 Bios update starts with FF .....hence my theory..... But if you would need to check your motherboard to find which version is the one you are using....

So kindly check before you do a bios update !!!!!

Yeah, I noticed neither rev 1 or rev 2 have my current bios update listed... Seems odd.

Edit: Upon further inspection, I have rev 2. Thanks! Time to upgrade a few drivers and the BIOS and see what happens...

Unfortunately not. I installed the new Bios, Chipset, and Video Card driver and everything was running smooth for a couple days... Then the 'ole blue screen with "video hardware error" marked as the cause in the reliability monitor.

This thread was a few days old already at that point, so I made a new thread. Maybe I should have just posted here with an update...?
