BSOD crashes lately

I've had over 12 BSOD's crash within the past 3 days.

I know that's a bit barzare it still stumps me when I think about it. I've been told my BIOS is out of date. Here is how I've triggered the crashes

Using Cuteftp pro - Clicking it to run

Using skype - Accepted a call by pressing the green button.

That's the only ways I thought it was the program so I unistalled and reinstalled. CAn someone help me step by step on how to update. Or should I take it back into the pc store I bought it from and have them up it for me?
