My PC has been crashing at random times for weeks and weeks, more often than not it happens when I'm either playing CoD4 or more recently, when watching youtube videos in 720p mode.

Below are some of the crash reports from "whocrashed"

As you can see the crashes are usually for several different reasons, but I have absolutely no clue how to stop it happening. It has only happened since I started using windows 7.
I have tried a fresh install of Windows 7 and updated ALL drivers and even tried rolling back drivers but the problem remains.

My PC specs are as follows.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
AMD X64 Dual core processor
4Gb Ram
Nvidia 9500GT 1Gb Graphics card.
ASUS A8m2n-la Motherboard

Any help/advice will be appreciated as I am at a total loss as to how I can solve this problem.

Many thanks in advance.

Simon

There is a 0x3b error in there and that is why I am almost certain that removing your antivirus from the system completely will alleviate the problems...or very much at least one of your major ones.

Uninstall your graphic card drivers and physx, run this program: Guru3D - Driver Sweeper (Setup) download from Guru3D.com clean graphic card drivers and physx then reinstall your graphic drivers: Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

I know this thread is old, but i though i'd chime in anyway...

This method helped me (seemingly) resolve the issue. I had been getting the Nvidia kernel error 197.45 blah blah blah for a few weeks, to the point where it was BSOD-ing my machine constantly. After unintstalling my nvidia driver (and making sure to check the box to delete all files during uninstall), i rebooted insto safe mode and ran the Guru3D driver sweeper. this allowed me to not only ensure that extra drivers and sporadic files were cleaned up, but also let me boot back into W7 normally but WITHOUT automatically having the system install the default nvidia driver. This was exactly what I wanted because then I could effectively isolate the problem and ensure it was fixed. So far no problems since the cleaning and reinstalling of newest nvidia driver.

Crispy, I spoke too soon. I thought it was all fixed. The machine was running fine most of the day. Then I returned home after being out for a couple hours and it would not wake from sleep mode. I should say, the computer did (could obviously hear it starting up), but not the video would not return. Then when I performed a hard restart of the system, the video simply will not operate when I boot normally in to windows 7 OR windows xp pro (both 64bit-os....yes, i have so little faith in microsoft OSes that I have been dual booting for nearly a year. it's saved me a few times). However the OS is starting up, as i can hear the logon sounds - password logs me into windows and everything. But no video. Now, if i boot to safe mode, everything seems to work fine.

Prior to the complete loss of video, when i was having the Nvidia kernel 197.45 error, the screen was flickering, then started displaying improper colors, showing 6-8 yellow and red vertical, gradient-esque lines. Once the discoloration started, it would be happening from startup and lines would remain until the video eventually failed, BSODed, and caused me to restart. Needless to say, eventually the restart wouldn't even get me video past the BIOS.

Safe mode has been working fine. I am getting into both OSes and the color balance is correct. However, I am still running my monitor through the Nvidia card via DVI-D (as opposed to hooking it up to the onboard VGA port).

Does this suggest that this really is some sort of software problem? Is it still possible for my graphics card to have failed even though I can still get video in safe mode? I have a pretty solid knowledge of computers but I suppose this is a question I have never had to answer before. Any other thoughts? I dont want to to a full re-install of W7 since safe mode is showing me that the OS can function fine. Seems to be directly related to a driver, but it wouldn't be the first time i was dead wrong. I'll be monitoring the system throughout the rest of the evening to see if it fails in safe mode as well. Hopefully not. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.
