Hi all, I unfortunately can't run any 3rd party software or upload raw data from the PCs in question, but we're seeing a large number of BSODs at work and all have a similar signature to this - a double fault when the kernel thread looks like it overruns the 24kb available, and almost all that is being used by win32k.sys apparently recursing. Why on earth win32k seems to be going through the same functions over and over, I have no idea, but here it's using 23088 bytes of kernel stack.
I realize there's probably no way anyone can tell why win32k is doing this since we don't have the code/symbols to see the messages it's sending, I was more curious as to whether anyone's seen something like this before. I realize the sk.sys and mcafee drivers are in the trace, however they're using a tiny amount of stack space compared to win32k. I have other examples where the call stack is win32k -> ProcessMouseInput -> Intel gfx driver -> double fault, again with win32k using 16-20 kbytes of kernel stack.
This is the output of windbg kf, !analyze -v, !stackusage. I can run any other commands you'd like as long as the output can be sanitized, i.e. doesn't show raw memory values.

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT
Arg2: 0000000080050031
Arg3: 00000000000406f8
