BSOD: driver power state failure problem

Hi my laptop has this driver power state failure blue screen of death when its about to shutdown but recently its has been doing it when i am just using the laptop. I really dont know what is causing the crashes and Microsoft errors can be so explicit really, so i was hoping for some help with this issue. Before i just go and return the laptop to frys and get something else with the warranty.

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 64bit
- the original installed OS on the system? windows 7
- an OEM or full retail version? oem
- What is the age of system (hardware)? 2 months
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) once a system restore to resolve the same problem and it resolved it for a while but the problem came back again.

BSOD caused by an HP device, Go into safe mode if possible and uninstall any Hewlett Packard devices you have and update the drivers and software

hi, well the laptop is hp so there is no way i can go in there and start removing devices considering almost all software is hp . but i guess once i do a backup of what i have in the laptop i can do a fresh reinstall of the windows 7 without using the oem version that came with it but just windows 7 alone and get the drivers for my video, sound and network separately.

The BSOD may be caused by a startup HP program such as Solution Center and other software preinstalled on the laptop, the best thing you can do is to update these or remove unwanted HP software

Remove HP 3D DriveGuard if it is installed
