Hi there, I don't know if anyone will be able to help...but I shall ask
My Toshiba Satellite C650 has been absoloutely fine up until the other day when I started it up, it came up asking to do a java update...which I agreed to do...and now everytime I start my computer I get a BSOD. It gets as far as the login screen, but once I've entered my password, it crashes after a few seconds. I can open up safe mode fine without the crashing, so I'm hoping that it's not completely broken.
I tried using a system restore which didn't work, then I tried a factory reset (pressing F8 and choosing 'repair computer'), but still no luck. I also tried removing a stick of RAM at a time to see if that was the problem...still nothing. So now here I am looking for some advice.
I tried to follow the BSOD posting rules and have attatched a .zip file with the dump and system file in, but when I try to run the perfmon /report in safe mode, it says:-
Error:
An error occured while attempting to generate the report.
The system cannot find the path specified.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Operating System on a Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4500 @ 2.30Ghz, with 3GB RAM, all of which came with the computer which I bought maybe only 8 months or so ago.
Any ideas and help would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Dan.
