Bsod driver_power_state_failure

Hi - I've started getting frequent BSOD crashes and I have no idea how to identify what's causing them let alone how to fix the problem. They often occur when the machine goes into sleep mode, but not always. Today it happened after the machine had woken up and worked ok for around 15 minutes.

Attached log files. Hope you can help get to the bottom of the problem.

Please run the DM Log Collector again and upload a new zip, the current uploaded one misses several logs.
You could check if there are

1. 18 .txt,
2. 1 .nfo,
3. 1 or more .dmp,

files present, if this is the case then all logs are present
If there are a few missing, no problem as we can get them manually if required

I've run the DM Collector 3 times, but it only has 3 .dmp files in it so not much of an improvement on the original upload. Any idea why it isn't working properly and can you give me some advice on getting hold of the files manually.

Run this command in an admin command prompt, it'll create some files on the desktop. Select the files, copy them to a zip file and upload the zip.

Please refrain from using uTorrent, registry cleaner programs and similar apps (apps like driver updaters, programs that claim to boost performance a few 100%, etc.) while troubleshooting.
Registry cleaner programs may cause problems, the risk of these programs removing important keys/values is pretty high resulting in a lot of issues.
uTorrent brings a risk of malware, it just takes a small mistake which we don't want.
I also want to ask to not run any program/utility that could cleanup your disk, the risk that they remove important data (event logs, error logs, dumps, etc.) is also quite high.

I can't tell if you ran the command I posted in my previous post, if you haven't please run it in an admin command prompt.

I did run the command and the files created are in the attached zip. is there still something wrong?

Haven't knowingly run any clean up programs for some time so hopefully all the files are available. And will make sure I don't run any of the apps as advised by you that might make it harder to troubleshoot .

Thanks for your help with this. Suspect the whole machine has a lot of rubbish I should get rid of.

Did you get any errors when you ran the command?

No nothing. It all seemed to work without a hitch.

A quick comparison with the list of files that the command should create and the files you provided, we only need recent dumps to continue

Please note, not all files I listed are present, but enough to provide decent help after the following below

Please run this command in an admin command prompt, it copies all minidumps to your desktop. Zip all minidumps and upload the zip in your next reply

I'm currently in contact with someone of Microsoft Tech support about an issue that is going world-wide causing us to be unable to help others. Since a day or 2 it appears to affect Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 too.
Quote of the issue:

Unfortunately there are symbol errors, this problem is affecting many users and forums, basically meaning that we can't debug the dumps you provide.

Since your BSODs seem to be similar, there is a good chance the older dumps help.

Please check ASRock for USB driver updates or reinstall the drivers.

Hi

I reinstalled the usb driver using the file from the AS Rock site. Windows update is giving me an option to update it, but I haven't done so. No BSOD in the last 48 hours.

Hope Microsoft Tech Support come up with an answer to the symbol errors which are preventing you from helping others.
