BSOD due to kernel.

Oh, if thats the case I can already tell you no it does not. After i installed it yesterday I left it running after a the install just sitting there. The only thing I did was turn off the shut off monitor on it. I left it idle for a good 3 or 4 hours. It just sat there at about 600mb ram usage and 0 - 20% cpu. Nothing happened. I now understand what you mean by clean and yes i did that and no nothing happened. It idles fine with nothing running then and it does now.

With all the **** installed to it, the AV, the messenger, the games, it idles fine running nothing but the av and system stuff.

Since I give up and I'll just go with the ram, what can I do? I cant buy more ram right now. I have no options, and I cant run windows 7 on the 512mb it has integrated, it just wont run. What am I supposed to do?

Do without the AV and the 3rd-party firewalls for a while - completely uninstall them (disabling is not a valid test).

Test the uTorrent+pidgin scenario in the complete absence of AV and those firewalls. If that works, you'll know you're on to something. I hope it does work, because that will mean those drivers are implicated.

I hope so. You dont know how upset thiss has made me. Really though I don't think I have BSOD before any of them. I know I did bsod once when I was installing something. probably the first dump of that list, maybe not. (dont remember if that was before or after the clean install). Dont take that to serious i just wanted to get it out there. I believe it was during an install update to adobe reader but i havnt updated mine yet so im sure its from before the clean install.

As for this no antivirus, what do I do for a firewall/scanner/av? Will windows defender protect me enough? Its not like I download random **** like an idiot.

Just work it to death with your patented uTorrent+pidgin crash inducing mechanism but don't "run" anything you download. Even the nastiest viruses on earth can't self-activate. Download enough stuff to convince yourself whether the behaviour is different with the AV and firewalls uninstalled, but don't execute/run/view any of it.

The point is to test, not to use.

Have your data backed up first, just in case.

The only thing i actually care about is my music. As I said before I lost it all. It just hit me my sister has it backed up on her desktop. So nothing to really worry about i guess. I lost all my NFS saves, so thats dead to me.

Its almost 4:30 and i stayed up all night to try and fix this because I just like windows 7 alot, but its being such a hassel. I've seen other people having the same issues on 7 after upgrading ram or anything like that and then I find people who have no issues doing everything I have done hardware wise.

Sorry for being such a pest, I'll post back tomorrow with any results. Give it a full day should be enough right?

I believe it was during an install update to adobe reader but i havnt updated mine yet so im sure its from before the clean install.

do you have adobe reader installed currently ?

this program caused some BSOD on XP systems by stressing the 2d driver acceleration on the Dell Optiplex

with a totally clean system you ideally want to force the BSOD error and If you can't then you need to install your 3rd party programs one by one until you can :)

Thing is, "same issues" is almost meaningless. There are literally millions of machines running every flavour of Windows, and if you go searching you'll find individual reports of just about any problem imaginable. The vast majority are "environmental" - they are specific to the hardware and software environment in which they are being encountered, as opposed to being bugs in the OS.

Sorry for being such a pest, I'll post back tomorrow with any results. Give it a full day should be enough right?

There's no need to be sorry. It's a help forum :)

Test it without AV+firewalls long enough to convince yourself whether or not the outcome is definitely different or not. You'll know best how long that takes.

in order not to lose any of my personal data such as music and photos etc I always partition my drive and put all my data into this separate partition , this means that my operating system can do what it likes uninstall crash reinstall and my data will always be safe :geek:

Another crash which smacks of hardware problems. Physical memory backing the msrpc.sys image does not contain what it should.

I'd suggest you uninstall the 3rd-party firewalls as well. Should BSODs along these lines continue afterwards, it becomes incredibly optimistic to hope for a non-hardware cause.

My aim is to help you diagnose the nature of the problem. What you do after that is probably best decided once you've had a bit of sleep. Problems seem smaller in the morning.

I'd still suggest you uninstall the firewalls first and then test some more.

THE FIREWALL IS PART OF THE GOD DAMN AV, ITS ONE DAMN PROGRAM. Jeeze. I already said its gone. I think Im going to just go back to windows xp. I have no other choice in this matter. If I go back and have no issues then it was indeed something fighting with windows 7. This is all I can do i guess. Im extremely upset. I dont want to sleep now. Im way to upset. There is no fix. I bought ****ed up ram and now my pc is a giant paperweight. Ok? Good? GREAT!

Ok I let the thing idle for 8 hours while I slept running NOTHING, except windows system files and a stat bar which is just a lil thing that will record the pcs uptime. No crashing no bsod no nothing. The cpu didnt even get higher then 10% when i checked it. Currently I'm running pidgin, a ram munching mmorpg and FF (obviously to be typing here) and no issues what so ever. I don't understand why I bsod and if it really is linked to my ram or not. The ram is made to sync with the integrated ram speed. Faster or slower depending on what it wants. The most possible thing is, its just defective, but then wouldnt it bsod because of everything? If NOT running utorrent is what makes it not bsod then I'll do that.

Sorry for the out burst from before, I was really upset and tired and when I start something I like to finish it then and not wait.

theres a thread running here talking about a Utorrent related bsod

are you using a wireless card with a Ralink RT61 chipset ??

heres more on the Utoreent forum casuing bsod with wireless cards

No I am running wireless with an intel chipset. It may have the same issue.

Ok for the past 4 hours I have been playing Lunia, a ram munching MMORPG. Running pidgin and i ran FF now. No bsods all day. My antivirus is also uninstalled (including the firewall). I have not run utorrent though. It may not be that utorrent is upsetting the kernel, but its upsetting hardware that is upsetting the kernel. It may not be it directly but indirectly.

Its 100% possible.

well for sure it doesn't seem a problem exclusive to the ralink card , in fact the Utorrent forum thread talks about the intel chipset

the good news could be it's beginning to look like a software and driver conflict, meaning your RAM is possibly ok :D

I would be tempted to install and run Utorrent now and see if I could create the bsod :geek:
