BSOD due to kernel.

Its been almost 24 hours since my bsod issues. Havnt run utorrent still because i dont have an anime to download for another day or 2. But the problems have stopped. I'm thinking about reinstalling my AV, but i havnt. It idles pretty soundly below 500mb. The fan doesnt throttle any more and my laptop has become very quiet again like when it was on xp.

I think my issues have been solved.

well that's good to hear you may have solved the problem but I would personally want to know what i had to avoid as well and it's a good idea to get the answer before you invest too much time in your system

suggest just install Utorrent and grab anything to see if you can get the bsod again ;)

I also suggest you partition your drive so you can separate your data such as music and pics to keep them safe if the OS goes pear shaped :geek:

a way to prove if this is just Utorrent or alternatively bad drivers for your wireless card being trashed by Utorrent , you could be plug up to your router instead with your RJ-45 ethernet connector and run Utorrent :p

I started bsoding again with weirdness. It was all due to my HDD havinf disk errors and they went away. Then I got a bsod recently just running pidgin and it was something relating to hardware yet again. I pulled my laptop apart to the ram (which requires fully taking this apart), and the one side of the ram chip was out ever so slightly. Not even much you could really see. I only noticed because the one clamp on the right was ever so slightly more bent out then the left. Now its in straighter so i hope that helps it.

I know all pcs pms if you dont have their hardware in perfectly. As for utorrent, it causes me to bsod either way. Im waiting on a rewrite like alot of others to fix it. Besides that, no problems.

I have the services for defender and firewall off. Now im getting BSOD coming from disk errors. I ran a disk check and cleaned the errors but its still bsoding now and then. I might have to reformat unless i can get a tool to clean it better then windows can.

God, i froze while playing a game and then it wouldn't boot. I unplugged my ipod and then it worked though. These problems I have are unreal. I know its not the ram as it still has issues with the old 512mb chip (1gb total ram). Im guessing its either something clashing OR maybe my copy is messed up? I have a iso i got from a "source". I decided to jump on the windows 7 train too late. I do plan to buy it. What I have is clean by reviews of others. If I cant get rid of the issues im gonna have to go back to xp. This is very upsetting.

No bsod though as there is no mini dump for it.
