Hi,

When playing games, im frequently getting a blue screen error:

Upon running Windbg, i got the probable cause as : dxgmms1!VIDMM_GLOBAL::ReferenceAllocationForPreparation+2b
But this isnt making any sense to me.

Any help?

I ran memtest86 with no issue and furmark with max temp reaching 84, but no crashes.
dmp file zipped and attached.

Thanks!

sfc scannow does say some files are corrupt, but i cant get the details. both files are attached.

Btw, i had the latest driver for my card, but i rolled back since this version was what i had been using previously.
Ive re-installed the latest drivers. Now trying to work out how to fix the SFC scan results.

It doesn't show anywhere in your logs that you had a blue screen. Have you tried completely removing the video card from device manager and then reinstalling the drivers?

I found this in your event logs. Try running a disk check and hard drive scan on your OS drive.

yep, like i said, i had a blue screen, but no dumps.
I ran memtest, 2 passes, no errors.

Regarding display divers. I chose complete uninstall, then reboot, then deleted drivers using device manager, then driver cleaner, finally reboot and installed latest drivers.

Ok. Re run memtest but run it for 7-8 passes. Also, run the two disk drive tests I posted

disk thing didnt show any errors.
neither did the 8 passes of memtest
And a new error. This time when running Colin McRae DiRT.
It seems to happen only when gfx card is being used a lot, but the gpu temp stays below 70 degrees.
ive also done a repair install of windows to correct the files sfc /scannow was not able to fix.

Do you have the latest Direct X by chance?

Have you tried a different video card?
