Hello,
I hope, you can help with this BSOD.

System information:
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
CPU intel i7
8GB RAM
Last system reinstall: 1 year

Yesterday I was watching a movie, when my notebook crashed. It crashes sometimes(once a month) and I found, it was problem with sound drivers.
I thought, when I restart, everything will be ok, but now, when I log in, a few seconds nothing and then BSOD. I logged in safe mode and everything was OK, so I decide to turn off some programs and services launched after logging. Didn't work. I uninstall Daemon tools as someone recommend, reinstall drivers, but nothing helps.

Thanks for help

Problem Devices:
Code:
Fingerprint Sensor	USB\VID_08FF&PID_2550\6&D5BCED0&0&5	The drivers for this device are not installed.
Security Processor Loader Driver	ROOT\LEGACY_SPLDR\0000	This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.
sptd	ROOT\LEGACY_SPTD\0000	This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.
ehdrv	ROOT\LEGACY_EHDRV\0000	This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.
epfwwfp	ROOT\LEGACY_EPFWWFP\0000	This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.
  • Please remove any CD/DVD virtualization software, such as Daemon Tools/Alcohol 120%, as they use a driver called sptd.sys that is known to cause BSODs. Use add/remove programs to remove the software. After removing the software, use the sptd.sys uninstaller to remove sptd.sys from the system.

I prefer TotalMounter as my CD/DVD virtualization software as it allows me to burn images to a virtual CD/DVD if I just want an ISO file instead of a disc, and it is free.

Many use MagicISO - Convert BIN to ISO, Create, Edit, Burn, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter/extractor/editor as well, which is also free.

  • You said you already removed DaemonTools, but you probably did not run the sptd uninstaller, which is why it is still showing as a problem device.

  • Also, make sure your ESET software is enabled and working as it should. You may need to re-install it (or it may be disabled because you are in Safe Mode, in which case, no worries).

Security Software (just a check that you have it and it is working properly; see above for steps that may be needed): ESET...

I suspect corrupted files or a corrupted registry. Start with checking for corrupted data:

Tried everything. Error moved to REGISTRY_ERROR with code 51 After some other steps like uninstalling software which I don't use, reinstalling all drivers and using system restore point. After that I found old Win7 install CD and repair windows with it.

It helped.

Are you by chance using a registry cleaning optimization tool?

Many of us on the forums actually do not recommend automated optimization tools for Windows 7. Windows 7 does a much better job of handling its own optimization than its predecessors did. We especially do not recommend registry cleaning as an "optimization" step because automated registry cleaning causes more harm to the registry than it actually repairs.

In the future, if you need help optimizing Windows 7, please post a thread in Performance & Maintenance - Windows 7 Forums or follow the tutorial enclosed in that forum to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...ws-7-a.html?filter[2]=Performance Maintenance.

I am using CCLeaner for cleaning TEMP and other directories, sometimes registry too. I am using it for 2 years I think.

Thank you for help.
