Hi

I'm hoping someone can with a BSOD problem that only seems to occur when using Serif MoviePlusX3.

So far it has happened twice today and once last week. The first twice appear to have different causes to one this afternoon. I WAS hoping to find a solution from other peoples experiences but the dump files contain so much data I don't understand that I feel I need assistance.

I have checked out (as best I can) the drivers installed on my PC and fairly certain they are up to date. A driver update program I downloaded said only three Intel drivers were out of date. I therefore downloaded a utility from the Intel site for out-of-date drivers but that is telling me I'm up-to-date. I probably have some "written for Vista" drivers installed because the drivers have never been updated for win7 but other than that, as far as I am aware they are ALL up-to-date.

About nine days ago I completely reinstalled Win7 using the double install method. Prior to that Windows was running OK-ish but misbehaving from time to time hence the reinstall. Up to that time it had been running for some 12-15 months with few problems and I believe with the same drivers I'm using at present. Certainly I had no problem using MoviePlusX3.

Hello,

One crash blamed Acronis as the cause, so start out by uninstalling or updating it.

Also run some hardware diagnostics, namely the three Prime95 tests: www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-hardware-stress-test-prime95.html

Many thanks for the reply but after I'd posted my message and file, I realised that another program had been loaded at the time the crashes occurred which itself was proving a little unstable. The program was Aver Media Centre 3D and from time to time since being installed it had crashed with an OUT OF RANGE ERROR. I therefore wonder just how much influence it may have had in my system crashes.

Today I removed Acronis TrueImage Home 2010 and also made a special effort to get the Avermedia program properly installed. Currently it appears to be running properly although only time will tell.

For my backups I'll test-drive Easeus Todo Backup Free V3.0. TrueImage didn't seem to be including everything in its backup so it's no big hardship to do without it and Todo Backup works in a similar manner. If what I'm trying doesn't work then of course I shall do as you suggest above.

Many thanks for your suggestion
Tracey
