Hi,

I'm relatively new at this so..

BSOD happens randomly, sometimes just browsing, sometimes while playing. Sometimes days pass by and it doesn't happen. Sometimes it happens back-to-back.

When I try to restart after BSOD, sometimes it will turn on, sometimes I need to unplug and wait for 10 minutes or so before it does turn on.

Please help?

Hi lluigen.

Test your HDD using Seatools. Take both the short test and the extended test.

Also, Install Service pack 1 and all other windows updates. Otherwise the system will remain vulnerable to threats including BSODs.
Code:
[COLOR=Red]Windows 7 Kernel Version 7600 MP [/COLOR](8 procs) Free x64
Product: WinNt, suite: TerminalServer SingleUserTS
Built by: 7600.16385.amd64fre.win7_rtm.090713-1255
Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
Service Pack and Update Center - Microsoft Windows

And free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Let us know the results.

Hi Arc,

Thank you for the response.
You were correct, it was the HDD.
Also freed up the startup as advised.

So far, no BSOD's yet :D

Thanks!
