I just bought this PC, custom built. Initially got an unexpected restart while in windows. Then again about 10 minutes later. Since then it's been stable in windows but I get the same thing (unexpected restart) when trying to play Mechwarrior Online. I don't think it's a heat issue, since the games only been running for about 1 minute before the crash, besides the air coming off the fans is cool. Other than MwO, the only programs I have installed is C Cleaner and Chrome. I got all my windows updates and cleaned out my registry.

Here's my error log

Welcome
Your reports are consisten but not definitive. They indicate hardware, but not what hardware. Lets start with memory.
Run for 8 passes.
Then test each stick in a good slot for 6 passes.
If you have dual channel, the results may be incorrect, if shows pass.

Thanks for the reply. I thought I had a few CD-R's but I guess not. I'll have to pick a few up to make the boot disk.
I did try running programs with only one stick of RAM. Failed with either stick.

I also downloaded Heavy Load to stress the system. The CPU stress test seemed to go fine but when I stressed the fps, the computer restarted consistently just above 600fps. Could I be dealing with a video driver issue?

Okay, ran 8 passes for both memory sticks and 7 passes for each stick individually (I'm an overachiever, what can I say). Passed with nary an error to be reported.

Strange that you should mention the cpu test.
I have found that bad memory can often give false reading of problems in other areas.
Your reports mention potential process problems. You have to realize once we take a test and incorrectly pass it, we are going to have an almost impossible time of a correct diagnosis, later on.
Please follow these instructions and test the cpu carefully

Regarding the FPS, the card is hardware and a possiblity, but have no comment yet. Why not update the driver and see if there is any change.
What tests did you take for fps and cpu and any other tests?

Yes, it ran for 5 hours
I also unplugged the video card and ran Heavy Load with the monitor plugged into the VGA port. Same shutdown thing happened.

Reports are quite certain about hardware.
Since the computer is new, do you want to continue testing or just bring it in under warranty.

It was a custom built by a private party (ebay). I'm in contact with the builder and he so far has been very supportive. My sneaking suspicion now is that we're dealing with a PSU. More than likely I'll be shipping this back for a turn around.
I appreciate the help. At the very least I learned a lot about debugging a computer that I never knew before.
Should I need more I'll post again. Thanks again!
