Have been having numerous blue screen errors with my Thinkpad x201. Reformatted last month as recommended by Lenovo, but the problem remains.

Thanks in advance for any help! :D

Is Windows 7
. . .

- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64
- the original installed OS on the system? Windows Home Premium 64 bits
- an OEM or full retail version? Full Retail (since the reformat)

- What is the age of system (hardware)? 4 months
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) 1 month

Several problems

1-sptd.sys, a huge problem used in alcohol and daemon tools.

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

You can use MagicDisc as an alternative.

2-AVG and Zone Alarm. I would remove and replace with Microsoft security essentials and the win 7 firewall

3-memory corruption. Probably caused by the above but you should test yours using memtest

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot. Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.
