Hey guys, I decided to start a new thread since the last one I posted was for my old computer setup....

Sigh.

Anyways, I was bluescreening before and you guys narrowed it down to the ram so I decided instead of buying new ddr2 ram i'd just upgrade my pc.

Which I did,

intel 4670k (new)
msi g65 mobo (new)
8gb ram (new)
560 ti GPU (from old rig)
2x 1tb hdds (from old rig)
650tx PSU (from old rig)

Alright so, first 3 days was running fine so I thought these bluescreens were behind me but I guess not, they have returned.

CPU temps (30c~)
GPU temps (31c~)

Seems to be bluescreen several times an hour while Im just on these forums, no matter what..... when my pc restarts and I get no video the GPU fan goes to 100%, its insanely loud. but like I said the temps are fine so I'm thinking its dying? Again? (4th time in 3 yrs out of warrenty now). I'd like a definitive answer from my crash reports if you guys could decipher it before i shell out more money :(.

I'm currently on the integrated GPU seeing if the 560ti is the problem, but the bsods are random so I just have to wait. I'll run memtest tonight to rule the ram out aswell.

Anyways please, any information you guys can provide would be extremely helpful.. as I am lost. Again.

Hi Punkfs.

Make it sure that the the GPU is working properly. May be it is not.

If it works, stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

Alright, I ran furmark and it capped out at 72c.

I did see a white line near the bottom of the screen show up once every minute or so for about half a second. Always in the same spot. Does that mean the card is going bad?

I used MSI kombuster when I first built the pc this week and I didn't get any artifacts on that program, also just tried it now and I did not see anything. But that test does not seem nearly as intense as furmark.

Also, I just want to throw out there I did a memtest on my ram 8 passes no errors so thats ruled out.

edit: just bluescreened again when browsing these forums.

edit2: bsod over and over, back to integrated gpu for now.

Thanks

Furmark tests the GPU better than anything else.

Your system does not recognize the GPU ... at least when you executed the SF diag tool. It showed standard VGA adapter as a GPU.

Noticing it, and based on your original post, plus that furmark artifact ..... all indicates to the GPU getting weak. You need to take proper action about it.

A glass cage with an AC may work :(

Anyways....... I don't want to wait for newegg shipping so I'm going down to bestbuy to pick up a 760gtx (lol bestbuy).

It's okay I'm getting 10% cash back so thats actually matching Newegg price...

EVGA makes a 760gtx specifically for bestbuy so the model number is different than newegg, amazon etc so you can't price match it, how shady is that?

Hah we'll see when I get home if that fixes the problem, hope so.. I havne't bluescreened all day on the integrated.

If you plan to buy a new GPU, get one below 700 series, IMHO.
