Hello!

I usually can Google and figure things out my self to fix computer issues. However, I have recently gotten BUGCODE_USB_DRIVERS (0x000000FE) BSOD about once per day.

It started out only occurring once every week and slowly got worse. I've done my best to get the most update USB drivers from Lenovo but that doesn't seem to be working.

Thanks for all of your help. I followed the BSOD posting tutorial and have attached the file (View attachment 300954). Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Chris W.

Hi Chris1056.

The BSODs are caused by VMware USB monitor.

It means that an Internal data structure (object) is corrupted. Obviously USB related.

Remove all the USB devices other than the keyboard and mouse for the time being. Then .....

Upload the list of all the third party drivers Using NirSoft DriverView :

  • Download and execute Driverview
  • View > Hide Microsoft Drivers
  • Edit > Select all
  • File > Save Selected Items
  • In the Save dialog, Set the path to desktop, Put "Driverview" in the name field, and save.
  • Zip the .txt file and upload it.
Also upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

Thanks,

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

  • Double click to open it.
  • Click this button only:
  • 2012-12-13_224441.jpg
  • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
If you dont need Bluetooth, disable it.

Lenovo Power Management Driver (C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\ibmpmdrv.sys) type of things are controlling ACPI externally, and adding to the chance of a stop 0x9F. I'd recommend you to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219576-clean-up-factory-bloatware.html, with a special reference to Point #13
13. Consider a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which is often better than getting a new computer considering how pre-installed bloatware can corrupt Windows 7 even if it's completely cleaned up.
Let us know the results.
