I have started receiving F4 BSOD crashes in the past month.

Today I have decided to format everything, however, I still started to get more F4 BSOD a few hours afterwards.

These are the dumps. If anyone could help me identify the problem.

BSOD F4, more often when USB is used

I've been getting BSOD F4. They happen especially if I attach a Nexus 4 or USB stick via USB. They also happen without, but the frequency is significantly lower.

I have also had the BSOD in Safemode with Networking enabled. This also happened when I attached the nexus 4.

Attached is the data I got with the dm log collector.

I have tried a format, but still have the problem. I'm afraid it might be hardware related, but if I could only identify which component is at fault, then at least I could replace it.

I would like to add that everytime, preceeding this F4 BSOD, is that the HDD LED will turn ON solid. Then a few seconds later, I will not be able to select anything or right click with my mouse, then my windows 7 windowes will crash (dissapear), like taskbar, any windowes that were up, etc. Then a bit later, it will BSOD.

Please, can anyone help me figure out what is wrong?

You should have continued in your previous thread despite of making a new one. We will merge these two.

You have Samsung Magician installed. make it sure that the SSD firmware is up-to date. Also post screenshots of both teh SSD and HDD using CrystalDisc Info.

Not only disc error, display error is also noticed. Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark. Take a screenshot of the furmark window before closing it. Upload the screenshot for us.

Also roll back the display driver to an earlier version. Because 14.9 WHQL is giving issues to some cards.

Let us know the results.

Here are the results.

I rolled my graphics back to 13.9 as I remember those were stable when I used them. And I'm only using a 7970, so I assumed any newer driver won't really benefit me.

If furmark image is too small I left it for 1:06 mins, standard clock 925,1375. temp reached to 76ºc.

I'm really concerned this is a hardware issue, since my BSOD in safe mode w/ networking.

First, 13.9 WHQL is a brilliant choice! Stick with it and see it it yields any more display caused BSOD.

CrystalDisc Info shots look good. Have you made it sure that the SSD firmware is up to date?

Thank you for reply.

SSD is up to date, I did the update through Samsung Magician a few months ago.

I will report when I get any more BSOD's and re-upload a new DM log if that happens.

Disc issue continues.

Open the computer. Make it sure that the SSD is properly fixed and connected. Re-seat the SATA/power cables there. If possible, apply a new SATA cable, and apply the disc to another unused SATA port on the motherboard.

Also try to observe if the BSOD is coming mostly during sleep mode or not.

I have did that, used different SATA port on mobo (3 instead of 1), used different cable, and reconnected power cable and sata to SSD.

I've only had 1 more F4, and that was when I inserted a USB. I have also had a newer BSOD, 116. Basically computer crashed before windows loaded, then at the second boot, it came up with Bccode 116. Attaching the newest DM log.

What I'm thinking of doing is a full format of the SSD (again), but this time installing only the drivers that came with the mobo CD (not the newer ones I installed off MSI's website) + 13.9 for video. Unless there is something else it is advisable to try before doing that.

A stop 0x116 is a display caused BSOD. 13.9 WHQL is a good and stable driver itself, but you should give another newer driver a chance. Try the 14.9 WHQL (not the latest 14,12, as it is problematic with some older model cards/gpus). See how it goes.

If stop 0x116 continues, we will have to check the reason in the other possible places.

Hi.

I had the 14.9 before, when you told me to change them (and installed 13.9). You mentioned 14.9 is giving some issues on some cards.

What about 13.12?

So I have formated my computer, and tried to install the minimal amount of drivers/programs. Used the mobo CD for original drivers (chipset, sound, ethernet) and ATI 13.12

First F4 code BSOD, it was exactly when I inserted a USB wire (to mini-usb, the ones used to charge androids) into the mobo's frontal USB 3.0 slot (case only has 3.0 in the front). The wire was not attached to any phone or tablet, so just the USB wire by itself.

As usual, HDD LED became solid, windows froze for several seconds (only mouse could be moved, but nothing clicked), then BSOD. I have attached the newest DM Log after this happening

Before formatting, I changed again the SATA wire and port on the motherboard.

What about 13.12?
Ok, give it a try.

When the driver versions does not make any difference, it is critical.

Regarding this, should I download this program and try it?

As there are multiple bugchecks, you may test your RAM modules for possible errors. Run memtest86+ for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.
