Hello all. can you help an enthusiastic noob and his OAP friend cure a BSOD. My friends HP pavilion has recently started an intermittent BSOD. SOmetimes at startup and sometimes during use. Its not overheating and done loads of cleanups/ virus check etc. Ive recently taught myself how to grab the minidump file and open it, but now cant understand where its pointing me too. I have a sneaky feeling its the RAM but that is a total guess based on the fact its happened to me before. I'll paste the dump file here in the hope someone in the know can read it and advise where and how to look for a cure.

Executable search path is:

first allow me to welcome you to the forum, and second can i ask that you please follow the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

Lastly I will leave you with this, and hope that it helps and that I'm wrong typically a 0x124 stop with the first argument being 0000000000000000 indicates a failure of the CPU

Sorry about that, it was late when I posted and didnt focus properly. I redo my post tonight with any other info that might be needed. Thanks for the first bit of advice though, which I hope isnt right ( no offence) I was hoping for an easier fix than a new CPU. If I get my posting right later maye itll shed more light on the problem

Kind regards

Rich

Hello Again.
Ive just read the posting instructions, but I Dont think I can follow them to the letter I'm affraid. The computer with the problem is a long way from me and I cant run the SF diagnostics on it. The mini dump file I copied onto the first post I took off the troubled PC at the weekend on a visit and posted it from my computer when I got home. If it helps any more the computer is a HP Pavillion 6699UK the spec of which is here
