Built this computer about 6 months ago. A couple of days ago started BSOD after booting up. Last night I wiped the HD clean and re-installed windows 7. Crashed immediately after loading. I then installed all the drivers again video card, wireless card, and wireless keyboard and mouse. Ran fine for a couple of hours, booted it up again this morning and crashing again. It now seems to crash 1min after booting up again.

Here is some of the information, appreciate any help.

Did some research and installed windbg and watched tutorials on reading the dump files. Most dumps were blaming the wireless USB from the BSOD, so removed the driver and wireless USB. Was still experiencing BSOD so ran a memory test today which came back clean. Next step was to enable driver verifier. After enabling that I no longer get a BSOD but my computer just freezes after a few minutes and don't get a crash dump file. Have to do a hard reboot. Any ideas?

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Just wanted to provide an update. Have enabled driver verifier and uploaded the logs. On 10/9 I tested with some known working hardware, swapped out 1 part at a time to see if the BSOD would quite. Tested a power supply, Graphics card, different Ram. Still had the same problem. The only spare part that I'm still using is the NVIDIA graphics card. Kind of at a loss, going to see if I can get a hard drive to test with even though I ran a test and it passed.

Hey Arc just wanted to provide another update. So before you posted I isolated the crashes to trying to update the Asmedia USB 3.0 host controller Driver. Basically every time I tried to update the driver I would get a BSOD. Windows didn't have a driver.

Saw your post and ran TDSSKiller and found one malicious program. Removed and rebooted then I was able to install the USB 3.0 host controller Driver without any problems and didn't BSOD in the 30min I was on the computer. Still need to run the windows defender offline when I get home tonight and will let you know the results of that.

Again thanks for the help.

Ran the windows defender offline full scan and found like 7 trojans(yikes). Have ran the computer for 20min so far without any problems. Going to put my original video card back in tomorrow night, run over the weekend and report back. Fingers are crossed that the issue is resolved.
