Hi guys, I am pulling my hair out trying to fix this can anyone help please.

- Windows 7 Ultimate
- x64
- retail version
- System age approx 2 years
- Age of OS installation 2 years also - not re-installed since initial installation.

The original error seemed to indicate ntoskrnl.exe however after running driver verifier it said DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

It has also possibly given errors, DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER and the most recent was MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION indicating cause from driver hal.dll

would a fresh install help ?

any help would really be appreciated

** I use Kaspersky antivirus software

These were related to pool corruption caused by your Kaspersky. PLease follow JMH's suggestion and remove and replace it

ALSO and important

Asacpi.sys

The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: Asus tek computer inc. -support- drivers and download p7p55d le

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards- ASUS P5K-VM

Scroll down to the utilities category, then scroll down to the "atk0110 driver for windowsxp/vista/windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).

Download and install it.

Go to c:\windows\system32\drivers to check and make sure that the asacpi.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (not before).
