BSOD iaStor.sys error, help!

I have an ASUS U50A, had it for about a year now. I've had Windows 7 installed the whole time and this is my first BSOD! I keep getting this error message when I try to boot the computer, even in Safe Mode:

I know next to nothing about computers, so not sure if there is extraneous information in there or anything. I haven't been able to find a fix on the internet, except this one: Stop Error in IASTOR.SYS - KB Article - 311881 | Dell, and when i try that, I can't find the Drives section in the BIOS screen- perhaps it is in a different location for Asus than for Dell?
I ran the memory test and it didn't detect any problems.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

iaStor.sys is an Intel Matrix Storage Driver. Update it from the Intel Site. Since you cannot boot into Windows nor Safe Mode - you only have limited choices. I suggest that you try Startup Repair and then update the iaStor.sys Driver.

To make it simpler, can you access Windows?

Also, test the hard drive with the DOS version of SeaTools.

Turns out i had a rootkit virus, which my boyfriend fixed using tdsskiller.


Created a boot disk using Hiren's Boot CD (Hiren's BootCD 13.0 - HTTP Download)
and then just ran TDSSKiller (How to remove malware belonging to the family Rootkit.Win32.TDSS (aka Tidserv, TDSServ, Alureon)?)
