Seems to be very stable in safe mode....can it still be a hardware issue?

Did you make sure all the parts are compatible with each other? Are you using any old hardware on this new built PC?

thanks for replying koolkat77
the computer build isn't exactly new most of the hardware dates back to 06/07

2 things are relatively new is SATA 1TB HDD and dvdwriter (IDE)

memory at 2.5gb but mismatched bus speeds. memtest shows clear though? would that still effect it.

I do worry about the Graphics card as It showed 2 garbled lines at bios post..? its stopped now though it may come back? i Haven't got enough hardware for trial and error

What the dmp file say?

ok the video driver has been updated to its latest
all memory banks bumped up to ddr400 as it was mismatched with ddr333

just a question this graphics card is geforce 8300 gs at 128mb pretty low.
it is running windows aero quite well.

going to put pressure on cpu with an office install as it crashed the last time will let you know how it gets on and get back to you with a new DMP file.

another bsod got another dmp file for you i do appreciate any help!

what I've noticed is a slight drop mouse smoothness like a lapse then i turned aero off.

it went much faster but crashed when i switched it back to aero again.
I think the graphics card isn't a good one.....

BSOD seems to look different too,,,,

tried memtest86 for a few passes found errors from one of the memory sticks.

memory was mismatched anyway ddr333 to ddr400 so got another 1gb ddr400

no bsods since

graphics card is fine.

I seldom come across bsod and it is mostly hardware issues,!!!

thanks for the help koolkat77
