The problem is either in the graphics driver or the directx components themselves (possibly even the game code)
But the crashes are all specifically directx related.
So your SSD is clear of scrutiny.

What I'm going to suggest is a list of several steps to make sure everything is in the clear and up to date.
Firs thing make sure you .net framework is fully up to date and at least at ver 3.5 (this is support for the graphics driver)
Download: .NET Framework 3.5 Service pack 1 - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

Then we are going to do a full reinstall of all the latest direct x components.
Download: DirectX Redist (February 2010) - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

and finally after that reinstall the latest driver for your card from here
ATI Catalyst

I think the reason it wasn't happening before is because you had one of these various components but missed it upon the reinstall.

...one more thing it never hurts to check
Download: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

since a lot of people with x64 wind up with the x86 version on their machine.
