windows 7 home premium 64bit

Just started getting this blue screen of death for the first time on my new computer (couple of months old).

The only thing that changed today was that I installed skype. Could this be causing this issue?

This is happening quite frequently so any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Thanks, so do you think the problem was the usb wireless adaptor driver? :sarc:

Anyway I got that ralink program, it installed fine, I dont understand how having another icon for my connection can help matters, but it hasn't crashed again since.

Will monitor it over the next day or so and report back if it happens again. . . .

spaciousmind,
What you did was install the latest Ralink 802.11 USB Wireless Adapter Driver.

Look at the top line of the output from WinDbg where you see that the probable cause is netr7364.sys. That's a Ralink product. You now have the latest and greatest from RaLink.

Ahh I see, always had trouble finding the right drivers for that damn thing as its just a generic product and seems to be made by 100 different companies.

After moving to windows 7 I just assumed that it would find the correct drivers and update them automatically, but I guess not!

just out of interest which particular output file was it that you found that information in? so I might be able to diagnose a problem myself in the future

thanks guys for all your help!

The thing you installed included both an application (which you can completely ignore) and a driver (which is what I think you needed)

oh I just mean where to find the actual info about the problem, mainly this stuff :
Prprobably caused by : netr7364.sys ( netr7364+37b5f )
The thing you installed included both an application (which you can completely ignore) and a driver (which is what I think you needed)
aha, yeah it seemed to have done the trick. I guess I can uninstall the application part then.

Thanks!

personally I would just delete the desktop icon and pretend it wasn't there. I wouldn't mess with it now that it's working.
