Hello there, new in the forum. I just started using a new laptop and out of nowhere a BSOD after a few hours. Wondering if there is some hardware unstability or if it is something i can fix on my own... so any help appreciated!

Posted the SF Diagnostic Tool zip file as requested.

Is the firmware for your SSD up-to-date?

Check for one and see if the stability returns.

Security App

Please remove Avast! and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials to see if it provides more stability. Uninstallers (removal tools) for common antivirus software. Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes are recommended from a strict BSOD perspective. They do not cause blue screens on the system as other AV products do.

Microsoft Security Essentials, Free antivirus for windows and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free

   Information
  • :warn: Do not start the free trial of MalwareBytes, unselect that option when prompted.

  • :tip: Update and make full scans with both separately.

Please run these tests and report back the results

1. SFC /scannow to check windows for corruption - SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
2. Disk check for errors on the hard drive - How to Run Disk Check in Windows 7
3. Troubleshoot applications by a clean boot - Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup
4. Memtest86+ paying close attention to part 3 - RAM - Test with Memtest86+
5. Hard drive test from HDD mfg website - Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure

Thanks for the prompt response. I ll be doing a the steps but since it is alot i will be reporting status a sI go:

1 - I uninstalled Avast with the special removing tools as requested.
2- I didnt re installed Microsoft Security tool and instead installed AVG. Let me know if this is critical and i ll uninstall or if we can go ahead with the rest of the tests.
3- I run scf/scannow with the following message:
"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the cbs.log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log"

Log file attached.

I am running it a second time to check if it finds more errors and report back.

EDIT: After a second run, sfc/scannow didnt find any "integrity violations" anymore.
