Hello Everyone

I have been getting some BSOD only when i play games...:cry:

The message has to do with "dxgmms1.sys". I have tried many things such as upating VGA drivers but still nothing...

My system hardware is this:

AMD CPU ADX6400CZWOF A64-X2 AM2
KINGS MEMORY KVR667D2N5/2GB DDR2 (x2)
ATI HD3870 GDDR4 512MB
SEAGATE ST3500320AS HDD 500GB/32MB
ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe,AM2,S,R,FW,GL (motherboard)

Any help would be really appreciated!!

Asus doesn't support Win7 for your motherboard

Please download this Vista driver from the Asus Support website for your motherboard: ACPI driver for ATK 0110 virtual device version 1043.2.15.37 for Windows 2000 / XP (32bit and 64bit) / 2003 (32bit & 64bit) / VISTA (32bit & 64bit)

Then go to Device Manager...System Devices...ATK0110 ACPI UTILITY
Right click on it and select Properties, then select the Driver tab
Select Uninstall to uninstall the driver.
Check in C:\Windows\System32\drivers to make sure that the ASACPI.SYS driver is no longer there.

Then install the freshly downloaded driver by using the Compatibility Mode for ALL USERS - and select "Run as Windows Vista" and "Run as adminstrator". Then click OK to close all the dialogs, and double click on the file to install the program.

Unfortunately, the driver that the dump file points to (dxgmms1.sys) isn't always the problem. I'd suggest downloading a copy of the latest Windows 7 video driver for your video card. Then uninstall the current driver and install the freshly downloaded one.

Post back if the BSOD's continue.

It's an 0x50 stop error. Uninstall any antivirus you have an I'm willing to bet it's fixed. Do not just disable as that will not help.

Also update this from the motherboard website to the 2009 version:

Go to C:\Windows in Windows Explorer. It should be in Windows\System32\drivers

In the top right search box, search for it. Then right click on it and choose rename.

I'd suggest trying Driver Verifier using these instructions:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.


So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista Startup Repair feature).


Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Automatically select unsigned drivers" and click "Next"
If no drivers show up, then select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.


Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out.
Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.


If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.
If that doesn't work, post back and we'll have to see about fixing the registry entry off-line.

Actually i just noticed that my RAID controller in devise manager has a yellow mark and there are no drivers installed for it and also windows update cannot locate something.
Is there any chance it can be the reason of these crashes?
And how can i find drivers for it?

Unlikely. We'll get you a driver for it anyhow.

In device manager, right click it. Properties. Details tab. Change dropdown to hardware ids. Copy and paste results to here.

Did you set fan to max while playing, yet?
