Solved BSOD increasingly frequent crashes; varying error messages.

I do not have a SkyDrive folder

On second thought, perhaps I do (I just had no idea). Got to figure out how to work it, though

ps12 - no problem, if it'll fit :). It's just that I usually work the MS forums, where we can't attach files :)

ps - yep, that's right! just follow the instructions, and we should end up with a clear SFC scan, and we can migrate to other troubleshooting steps.

If you had BitDefender installed AT ALL since the last time you reinstalled Windows, tehn it needs to be fully removed - like most AV's it leaves a fair amount of dross behind.
Follow ALL the instructions here - How to uninstall Bitdefender
Once complete,

reboot the machine whether it asks for it or not.

After the reboot, open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command

NETSH WINSOCK RESET

You'll be advised to reboot - do so.

Agree.....uninstall both Avast and BitDefender if you haven't already done so. They may be the cause of MSE trowing a wobbly.

Here's what happened: after the whole procedure, on reboot, MSE was dead. Red icon, real time protection disabled, says it needs updating.
Then I run SFC /SCANNOW as instructed, and the verifying process stopped at 6%, with a message stating that "windows resource protection: impossible to perform the required task", or something like that.

Every time I rebooted, I've updated MSE and got it working, but on the next reboot it was down again.
I’ve also I tried to run SFC /SCANNOW again. Every time time it stopped for the same reason as before, at 26%, 9%, 11%.

I hope this does not mean I just made things worse. The first time, at least, it completed the sc...
Anyway, now I'll uninstall/reinstall MSE again (can't stay without antivirus).
I'm enclosing the files. Thanks

I just cannot seem to get MSE to work. Tried uninstall/reinstall; system restore. Nothing seems to work.
As an added bonus, I've also got a blue screen, and I hadn't had one of those in days. I'm encloing files.

I need some clarifications, please...
1) It appears that you've recently re-installed the OS - please confirm
2) The system base language appears to be Italian?
3) You appear to have installed the Windows Mail hack to enable the internal (and deprecated) replacement for Outlook Express?

Here's what happened.
After I performed the suggested procedure, I started getting tons of BSOD.
So I Deleted the OS partition, reformatted, reinstalled, and I was still having troubles. That made no sense.

So I run memtest throught the night and got 40.000 (yes, fourty thousands) errors.

I changed pc (I had a backup one), so now The only parts I moved from the defective unit are the processor Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 and the HD.

So far, everything's fine... almost. I found the pc in sleep mode despite the fact that I had disabled it, and found otut I'm getting a repeated ID 35 event in the event log.

I'll ask for help about it in the right section.

Thank you again for your assistance through this.
