Every time I boot up my PC, a BSOD appears and it seems to have different error messages/stop codes/drivers listed each time. I can restart my computer and it will either come up with a new BSOD or boot up successfully. Attached is my SF Diagnostic ZIP. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi there,

There aren't any .dmp file in your attachment. These are required to analyse the BSOD.

Follow these steps:
Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD

Then, when the system next BSOD's, follow this:

1. Download this .BAT file to your desktop

Download

2. Right-click the .BAT file and 'Run as Administrator'
3. Locate the .ZIP file created on your desktop, and upload it here in your next reply.

I was unable to run said .BAT file as administrator - no "Run As Administrator" function was listed under the context menu. I have configured my system for a small memory dump.

That is interesting. What account are you running in right now?

Are you using a standard Admin level account or the built-in admin account you may have enabled?

You're welcome, glad you got it working.

Unfortunately there are still no dumps so we will have to wait till you get another BSOD now that you have configured it for creating dumps.

Also, don't run any cleaner programs or disk cleanup during this time cause they will delete those files.

Just run that .bat file again after your next crash and upload it here.

I see you have a laptop but I don't know the brand or model number.

You can let me know that info so I can check the manufacturer for you.

If you want to try a reinstall of that driver to see if it helps, here is the same version,

I uninstalled the Atheros Network Adapter from Device Manager and used the Action>Scan For Hardware Changes option to reinstall it and when it did, it installed the Atheros driver version 9.2.0.480 - should I leave the driver at that version and see if the BSODs continue after a restart or should I update the driver to the latest version (10.0.0.270)?

Thanks for the info, if you could give a model number as well that will come in handy.

You can put in your specs,

As for that driver, let's see if you get any more BSOD's using that one.

Just restarted my PC and everything looks good - no BSOD (yet - fingers crossed). As of now the problem is solved. Just one quick question - if I mark this thread as solved, in the near future (next few days) can I return to this thread and re-mark it as unsolved if I start having BSODs? Or would I, in that case, just start a new thread? Thanks for your help.
