New to forums, forgive me if I don't provide enough information. So here's my situation. I've had this custom build computer for almost 2 years and for the past few weeks I've been receiving many BSOD's and I can really pin point the problem. I'm going to attach text files from the BLUESCREEN View program. Here are the following memory dmp files.

Please follow this:
If you have an SSD, make sure the following are up to date:
  • SSD firmware
  • BIOS Version
  • Chipset Drivers
  • Hard disk controller drivers/SATA drivers
  • If you have a Marvell IDE ATA/ATAPI device, make sure the drivers are up to date from the Intel site or Marvell site and not from your motherboard/vendor support site.
Upload a screenshot of your hard disk using CrystalDiskInfo:
Make a hard drive test from the hard drive manufacturers website:
Run Disk Check on your hard disk for file system errors and bad sectors on it:
Hard drive test both short and long with:
Also the DOS version of:
Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.

The goal is to test all the RAM sticks and all the motherboard slots.

Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed.

If you get errors, stop the test and continue with the next step.

1. Remove all but one stick of RAM from your computer (this will be RAM stick #1), and run Memtest86 again, for 7 passes.
*Be sure to note the RAM stick, use a piece of tape with a number, and note the motherboard slot.
If this stick passes the test then go to step #3.

2. If RAM stick #1 has errors, repeat the test with RAM stick #2 in the same motherboard slot.
*If RAM stick #2 passes, this indicates that RAM stick #1 may be bad. If you want to be absolutely sure, re-test RAM stick #1 in another known good slot.
*If RAM stick #2 has errors, this indicates another possible bad RAM stick, a possible motherboard slot failure or inadequate settings.
3. Test the next stick of RAM (stick #2) in the next motherboard slot.
*If this RAM stick has errors repeat step #2 using a known good stick if possible, or another stick.
*If this RAM stick has no errors and both sticks failed in slot#1, test RAM stick #1 in this slot.
4. If you find a stick that passes the test, test it in all the other motherboard slots.

If Part 2 testing shows errors, and all tests in Part 3 show errors, you will need to test the RAM sticks in another computer and/or test other RAM in your computer to identify the problem.

In this way, you can identify whether it is a bad stick of RAM, a bad motherboard, or incompatibility between the sticks.
   Information
Errors are sometimes found after 8 passes.

   Tip
Do this test overnight, before going to bed.

If Memtest86+ does not find any errors with ram run Windows Memory Diagnostics for 7-8 passes following its tutorial: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/715-memory-diagnostics-tool.html

Let us know the results.

Excellent information for a rookie, thank you. A quick question. Is it possible for the system to crash while running the MemTest overnight. I'll upload the screenshots and result asap. Busy with college work. Thank you for the information. I'll keep you updated as soon as I get results.

I ran Memtest overnight and it passed all 8 times. Do I need to run the Memtest in the other 2 slots of my motherboard or is it safe to say that these slots I"m currently using are good enough to use? I'm going to post the CrystalDisk image. I'll will be running the other recommended steps just as soon as I get back from school. Thank you.

I put my computer specs up. If anymore information regarding that is needed please let me know. I have about 4 computers and an xbox connected to the internet. I believe the ip addresses for each computer is different. I'm unsure how to check their system names. If you would direct me how to check that I can let you know. I'm not sure how to update the realtek network drivers. I've had one printer connected to this computer. (hp psc 2410 photosmart). Running a malware scan right now (using Malwarebytes anti Malware software). Any other information that is needed please feel free to ask.

Another question. I have a Seagate Hard Drive. So is it necessary to run Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure and the Seatools for Windows? or is one and the same? I downloaded the Seatools ISO file and am currently about to start the scan using the CD drive. I will run the short and long tests and lets you know about the results.

SSD firmware
BIOS Version
Chipset Drivers
Hard disk controller drivers/SATA drivers
If you have a Marvell IDE ATA/ATAPI device, make sure the drivers are up to date from the Intel site or Marvell site and not from your motherboard/vendor support site.

The above steps how do I check each thing. I just updated the BIOS Version.
I believe I have a solid-state drive. Not sure.

I currently do not use the printer on this computer anymore. Is it safe to remove the printer and drivers for the printer to stop getting the BSOD involving the printer? I will check the PC name on my laptop to make sure its not conflicting. If so, how do I change it? I haven't gotten a BSOD since the last upload. I'll upload more if I get any.

*Edit*
Updated the Realtek drivers. And I"m going to remove the printer drivers and software. I'm confused on how to check for the same computer name on the network.

If I need to run anymore diagnostics, i'll be happy to do them and give results.

Before I do a clean install of windows. I will upload the new minidump files to make sure that the crash is caused by the printer drivers and/or the computer name and IP conflicting with another system. ARC if you can kindly analyze the dump files, and confirm that those are the problems you listed above.

Apparently the situation is a bit better now, after making a few changes including the network driver update that I can check in the dumps.

Now, free up the startup.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept the restart.
Then try Memtest again. Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

Hope it will let you run this time. Observe it, let it run for 7 -8 passes, as koolkat77 suggested earlier. Is it showing errors, the red lines?

If yes, replace the RAM modules. If it passes clean, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.
