Good day/evening, depending on where you're from.

I've been having some issues recently with my computer crashing while hosting streams with Open Broadcaster Software on Twitch. The screen will entirely freeze, and whatever sound was playing will stutter repeatedly and rapidly until I hard shutdown via the power button, or (in the most recent case) it BSODs. It's only BSOD'd for this kind of thing once now. Other programs running at the time were Firefox and Chrome, Discord, and Capture Software for my Nintendo 3DS. In addition, this has also happened while playing RIVE and RimWorld. The only time it has happened while I haven't been streaming was while watching replays of Summer Games Done Quick on YouTube.

I'm not sure if it's related, but I've had instances of bringing my PC back from hibernation and finding that I can't connect to the internet, realizing it's something with my PC, and as I start to close programs, whatever I try to close freezes, including and up to Explorer. At that point I have to hard shutdown.

I'll check back in a while as I know this isn't instantaneous, so please let me know what additional information you need if the attached logs aren't enough.

Thanks!

Hello Ultymoo and welcome to 7Forums! :)

The 0x124 error means that a critical hardware error has occurred and I would recommend that you update your BIOS as it is a bit old, here is the link to the support page for your motherboard:

MAXIMUS VI HERO | Motherboards | ASUS Global

Oh and use the BIOS utility, if you are unfamiliar about flashing the BIOS.

And the three remaining dump files pointed towards SA7160.X64.SYS which has something to do with Broadcast/AVStream.

That's all for now, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

Cheers, Boris :)

Thanks for the welcome! I've updated the BIOS as requested. I'm hoping the fix is as simple as that, but we'll see. It's a very random crash. Today they happened within 20 minutes of each other, other times I can go for a week or even multiple weeks without a crash of this type.

As for the SA7160 ones, that's due to a capture card I have installed not wanting to play nicely with OBS. I had to actually disable it to be able to select my Webcam recently.

In my research, it seems like 0x00000124 is a pretty widespread and generic error, so tracking down the cause is going to be interesting to say the least.

EDIT: I tried a stream again after both updating my BIOS and my Video Drivers. 26 minutes into the stream, it just cut out. I also pulled open the case and dusted everything out, checked connections, etc.
