Hey guys! First time poster, long time lurker here.

The last couple of days I've been ravaged by BSODs. I did a memtest and found out that I had a bad ram stick. I replaced the ram stick and did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and installed my drivers as well as Avast! Antivirus.

I am still getting BSODs, I did another memtest on my new ram together and individually and both sticks tested fine. One of the dump files mentioned Avast! as the issue. After some trouble (2 BSOD releating to Avast!) I was able to uninstall it in Safe Mode. I then proceeded to install Panda Antivirus and had similar issues with it, so I have since uninstalled that antivirus as well. Right now I am using Windows Security Essentials until I can figure out what is causing my BSODs.

The BSODs seem to be happening randomly, but can be triggered faster by me opening launching the "World of Warcraft" launcher.

I have my DM Logs attached to this forum. Thanks in advance for any help that you can give!

Hey, thanks for the reply!

I think I figured it out earlier this morning. It seems to be as simple as my CPU overheating, took my laptop apart and gave it a good cleaning and my CPU temps have dropped by 15C and I have yet to experience a blue screen!

I'll go ahead and do all the steps you listed just to make sure.

Seems a strange fix Mac but hay stranger things happen at sea they say LOL!! If you need to replace the thermal compound and are confident enough to do that then there are a few things that you will have to be aware of and plenty of Youtube stuff to watch.

I don't know what you did to clean out the laptop but I wrote up this little ditty

CLEANING LAPTOPS

What youcan do is to check the air intake aperture and the "rad" and to dothat shine a very bright light into the fan aperture and look through from theoutlet grill
1. You will see if there is a lot of dust in the fan intake and fan blades and2. you will see if the "rad" is blocked in any way when you lookthrough from the outside.

Now to clean you can blow the dust out using compressed air
but firstmake sure you insert something into the fan blades before you do - to stop thefan from spinning
as spinning the fan with air willcause it to spin at much higher revs than it was designed for and can wreck thebearing.
The rad you can use those chenille wire play things to very gently clean therad from outside the machine and again blow the dust out. It is fiddly buteffective.

I have done one for taking apart laptops and redoing the thermal compound too if you should like to see them.
