BSOD issues

Hi,

Am having ongoing issues with BSOD.
Getting different errors in most cases but still comes back to the same ones after a while.

Any help would be appreciated.



Update: Have just run MemTest for a 2nd time today and it was successfull.

There's not enough evidence yet to determine if this is hardware or not - so we'll proceed with the assumption that it's not (simply because it's easier to mess with software problems than with hardware problems).

The first issue is the outdated ASACPI.sys file (yours is from 2005). This is a known cause of BSOD's on Win7 systems. Please visit the Asus website and download the latest version of the ATK0110 ACPI Utility from here: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P5N-E SLI
It looks like you'll have to install the Vista 64 bit version - as there isn't a version for your Win7 system.
To do this, download this Utility: ACPI driver for ATK 0110 virtual device version 1043.2.15.37 for Windows 2000 / XP (32bit and 64bit) / 2003 (32bit & 64bit) / VISTA (32bit & 64bit)
Extract it to your Desktop and navigate to the ACPI\ACPI64 directory.
Right click on the AsAcpiIns.exe file and select Properties, then select the Compatibility tab
Select it to run as Vista SP1, and to Run as Administrator - and then double click on it to let it install.

Double check that the file installed by navigating to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and check the date on the ASACPI.sys file there. It should be dated 11/1/2006 (this is not a guarantee'd fix - as I'm unsure of the stability of the 2006 version of this file in Windows 7) Should this not work, I have a version of the 2009 and 2010 file that should work (but it's not intended for your mobo).

There are also memory issues with some of the P5 series of motherboards and Windows 7. To work around this, visit the website of the manufacturer of your RAM (Corsair ) and locate the settings/timings/voltages that are recommended for your RAM. Then enter the mobo's BIOS and set those settings in the BIOS (in other words, I don't recommend using the "Auto" setting for memory (RAM) in the BIOS of P5 series mobo's).

- Create a System Restore Point prior to doing any of this. DO NOT mess with the drivers themselves - leave the Windows\System32\drivers directory alone unless we specifically direct you to it!
- Please update these drivers from the device manufacturer's website - or uninstall them from your system. Reference links are included below.
- DO NOT use Windows Update or the Update Drivers function of Device Manager.
- Please feel free to post back about any drivers that you are having difficulty locating.
