Hi, i recently built a pc from scratch for a friend, all brand new parts minus the ram and hard drive. Specs are.

Intel PentDC E5700 3.0GHz 45nm
ASUS P5KPL-AM/EPU MOBO
CIT1006 Black/Silver Case 450w
1x2 Corsair DDR2 800mhz XMS
160 GIG HD
Samsung DVD RW

I tested it well before sending it to my friend. I tested it overnight with both ram sticks in on memtest for around 8-9 hours, all passed. I updated every driver with the latest i could find. I ran prime85 small fft and blend tests for long periods. It passed all tests. But before i sent it round it came up with a bsod message.

I removed norton and added microsoft security essentials and it seemed to go away.

He contacted me tonight to say that there have been a few bsod messages since we last spoke.

I am going to pop round his house tomorrow to pick up the dump files and bring them back here, for now i have the one dump file that happened before i sent it round.

Could an expert look at it please, and tell me what to do.

Many thanks, and i will add more dump files tomorrow.

Hello and Welcome to SF !

Seems like the dumps are pointing to System file. But we have to run some test to conform see what's happening. Follow this article Hardware Diagnostic | Captain Debugger

Uninstall Symatec / Norton completely and use the Removal Tool and clear the left over files. Then install Microsoft Security Essentials as a replacement.

Download Malwarebytes and reboot in Safe Mode and run a complete scan.

Thanks for the speedy reply mate.

As i said in my post, ive run prime95 and memtest already. However i didnt test the two ram sticks individually, would you advise on doing this?

As for Norton, i removed it, but after the bsod message i posted. Am already running security essentials on his pc, but i will use the norton clean up tool tomorrow.

As for more bsods, i should be able to provide 2-3 more mini dump files tomorrow.

Thanks. :)

Okiedokie! Post us the new dump files. As for RAM running individually is recommended and make sure you run it atleast 7 to 8 passes.

These bsod's appear to be random, and rare.

Hi there,

Have you ran the MemTest86+ for RAM individually for 8 passes ?

Run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

Make sure you run the Hard drive Diagnostic Hardware Diagnostic | Captain Debugger

Install Speedfan and check the Temps and post us the screenshot. Enable Driver Verifier http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lo...-driver-verifier-identify-issues-drivers.html and let it run for 36 hours. Make sure you delete all the existing dump files from Minidump folder so we could capture new Minidump folder

Did the extra mini dump not point to anything particular again?
